Local charity looks to raise funds

Clarkston charity Lend a Helping Hand is looking to raise some money for Clarkston Realty employee Susan Burns. Burns is in stage three of Melanoma, which is the most serious form of skin cancer. Burns needs approximately 30 shots for treatment, with each shot costing $1,000.

Michelle Phaup and Lend a Helping Hand hosts a "Benefit for Brandon Schlick," Friday, Feb. 20, 7 p.m., at Deer Lake Athletic Club.

On Sept. 28, 2008, Schlick got into a car accident just outside of Orlando, Fla., where he was living.
